York Advanced Motorcyclists

We are a group of bikers with a common interest in enjoying riding our bikes.  Some of us like touring, some of us prefer scratching - but we all ride for the sheer pleasure we get from it.  Most of us are social riders, but a few combine it with business.  Each in his or her own way gets a thrill or a buzz from riding, particularly in doing it well.  A motorcycle is a very personal mode of transport - it can thrill and excite, it can get the adrenaline flowing, but it can also frighten and kill.

At York Advanced Motorcyclists we aim to dramatically increase your survival chances, by showing you how to safely enjoy that buzz ... without reducing the excitement.

An important message to all associates undergoing training with YAM:

In keeping with our objective to promote road safety, and following our latest safety review, it is decided that from the start of winter training, (and from thereon), all associates undergoing training will be required, whilst on an observed ride, to wear as a minimum a Hi Viz waistcoat. Refusal to comply with this requirement will unfortunately exclude any individual from training.

Therefore, there will now be a requirement for Associates to provide themselves with a suitable garment. However, in an attempt to offset the additional cost associated with this directive, YAM have purchased a number of waistcoats which are available for Associates to buy at cost (£5 from regalia).
